1. Professional Standards & Accreditation
All consultant psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, and mental health clinicians practicing at Genesis Medical Consulting maintain active, unrestricted professional registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), the Medical Board of Australia, or the Psychology Board of Australia.
Our practice strictly adheres to the ethical guidelines and codes of conduct set down by:
- RANZCP: Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists Code of Ethics.
- APS: Australian Psychological Society Code of Ethics (Respect, Propriety, and Integrity).
- Good Medical Practice: A Code of Conduct for Doctors in Australia (Medical Board of Australia).
2. Acute Crisis & Emergency Support Protocols
Genesis Medical Consulting is an outpatient consulting practice and is not equipped to provide 24-hour emergency medical care or immediate psychiatric crisis response.
If you, a family member, or someone you care for is experiencing an immediate life-threatening psychiatric emergency, severe acute distress, or thoughts of self-harm, please contact 24/7 national emergency services immediately:
3. Informed Consent & Therapeutic Autonomy
We believe in collaborative, patient-centered care. Before commencing psychological therapy, psychiatric evaluation, or pharmacotherapy, clinicians ensure that:
- The nature, purpose, potential risks, and expected benefits of treatment are explained in plain, accessible language.
- Patients are informed of evidence-based alternative options.
- Consent is voluntary and may be withdrawn or adjusted at any stage without prejudice to future care.
4. Duty of Care & Mandatory Reporting Obligations
While confidentiality is the cornerstone of clinical mental health care, Australian law imposes statutory exceptions where clinician duty of care supersedes confidentiality:
• Imminent Danger: If there is a serious and imminent threat to the life, health, or safety of the patient or another person.
• Child & Vulnerable Person Protection: Mandatory reporting under child protection legislation (e.g. Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998 NSW) where there are reasonable grounds to suspect a child is at risk of significant harm.
• Judicial Subpoenas: When formally commanded by a court order or legal summons.
5. Medico-Legal Independence & Expert Witness Code
Dr. Raymond Tint Way and our senior consulting psychiatrists provide expert Independent Medical Examinations (IME) and psycho-medico-legal reports for courts, tribunals, and legal practitioners. All expert assessments strictly comply with the Uniform Civil Procedure Rules (UCPR) Expert Witness Code of Conduct (Schedule 7).
Our expert duty is overriding and paramount to the Court, remaining entirely objective, independent, and impartial regardless of the instructing party.
6. Ethical AI Implementation – Raymond AI

- Clinician-in-the-Loop Oversight: Raymond AI does not make autonomous clinical diagnoses or prescribe treatments. All clinical decisions, diagnostic conclusions, and treatment plans remain under the direct supervision of our human registered medical practitioners.
